The Museum is anxious to preserve the history of the Eufaula area.  Items that have a connection with any of Eufaula’s history are welcome.  Don’t just limit your thinking to “olde time” stuff.  A young person now in high school would consider 2001 historic.

Such items include but are not limited to:

  • PHOTOGRAPHS of individuals, groups, events, locations, organizations, etc.
  • ARTIFACTS or ANTIQUES created or owned by area residents.  We’re looking for items that are in good shape and display an aspect of history in the area.  As much information about the item, who purchased it originally and who used it would be appreciated.
  • PAINTINGS, SCULPTURES or other artwork created by local artists.
  • STORIES, POEMS, BOOKS written by local authors.
  • ITEMS CONNECTED WITH THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS in the area, whether open or closed.
  • ITEMS FROM CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS, either those from long ago or ones currently serving our area.
  • CLOTHING, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, BUSINESS FURNISHINGS that have a connection with Eufaula and eastern Oklahoma.

There are some items we CANNOT accept:

  • Items that are not associated with the Eufaula, Oklahoma area.
  • Items covered under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, which are generally items connected with Native American religious or burial practices.
  • Items can contain parts of animals protected under the Endangered Species Act.
  • Items where ownership is in question.
  • Items that entered the United States illegally.
  • Items that were obtained in an unethical manner or acquired in violation of state, national, or international laws.
  • Items that cannot be property cared for over the long term.
  • Items that are potentially dangerous to persons or property.

We look forward to seeing you and hearing about your items and the stories behind them!

  1. I am so excited that Eufaula will have a museum that our community will enjoy and be proud of. The website looks great and all efforts by the museum organizers are to be commended.
